SPH-16 SFP Patch Hub

The SPH-16 is a managed SFP patch hub that connects 16 Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps) copper sockets (RJ-45) to any standard SFP device. Compatible with any Ethernet switch featuring RJ-45 connectors, the SPH-16 SFP patch hub houses RAD’s special “System on an SFP” devices, including the MiRICi-E1/T1 and MiRICi-E3/T3 miniature Ethernet to E1/T1 or E3/T3 remote bridges, as well as the MiTOP-E1/T1 SFP-format TDM pseudowire gateway.

Feature:

  • Reduces CapEx by eliminating the need for expensive dedicated SFP devices
  • Minimizes store and forward delays with fully transparent Layer 1 conversion at wire speed
  • Supports RAD’s “System on an SFP” portfolio
  • Enables low-touch operations with auto-discovery of Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) or Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps)
  • Provides carrier-grade system protection with fully redundant power supplies

Specification:

  • Converts 16 Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet copper ports to SFP sockets
100/1000 Mbps full duplex with auto-negotiation; MDI/MDX crossover on the user Ethernet copper ports
  • Compatible with any standard SFP device
  • Maximum frame size up to 10,000 bytes
  • Real-time major and minor fault alarms; WAN to LAN fault propagation for service protection
  • Supports SNMP management to interface with I2C parameters of standard SFP devices
  • Manageable via an ASCII terminal, Web browser, Telnet, SNMP
SSL and SSH security protocols; RADIUS authentication
  • Hot-swappable AC and DC power supplies
