| Net Optics, Inc., the leader in passive Bypass technology, announced that its iBypass has achieved OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through OPSEC certification, Net Optics' iBypass seamlessly interoperates with Check Point IPS-1® intrusion prevention systems.
The Net Optics iBypass Switch with Heartbeat technology protects networks from unnecessary downtime due to power, link, and application failures. OPSEC integration between Check Point IPS-1 provides organizations with an additional level of in-line reliability for IPS-1 deployments. Through OPSEC integration, the Net Optics iBypass Switch is able to continually monitor the operating status of the IPS-1 system, verifying the state of the link between the two devices and automatically rerouting traffic away from the IPS-1 system in the event of a link anomaly, outage or other form of failure.
"The iBypass Switch is the epitome in secure network access points for intrusion prevention systems and other in-line monitoring devices," said Dennis Carpio, Director of Product Innovation at Net Optics. "Network security professionals will now have a remotely managed, intelligent solution that will meet the needs of their mission critical deployments."
Software management tools, Web Manager (browser-based) and System Manager (platform-based), are both included in the purchase of iTap enabled products and can be used to either view a single device or logical groups of devices for greater visibility and information. A Command Line Interface (CLI) is also included for initial installation and setup. Optional Management Information Base (MIB) is available for organizations that wish to manage Net Optics products from Enterprise software platforms, like IBM Tivoli® or HP OpenView.
"We are pleased to see Net Optics achieve OPSEC certification," said Poornima DeBolle, Head of Business Development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Bypass Switches and link monitoring solutions play a major role in identifying traffic bottlenecks, and consequently providing alternative traffic routes that are critical for enterprise deployments."
