Recently, Huawei-3Com assisted Tsinghua University's Medical College in the deployment of a tailor-made campus network solution. This multi-functional network had to be able to support various tasks including teaching, research and management.

As a world-class medical institution, Tsinghua Medical College required a highly secure, reliable, advanced and scalable network platform with multi-functional features. After close consultation with the University, Huawei-3Com installed a high-performance, next-generation 10 Gigabit Ethernet network to fulfill the key requirements while at the same time ensuring that the network was fully scalable.

Huawei-3Com Quidway® S8512 10GE core multi-service routing switches and E series switches were deployed across the campus. The Quidway S8512 fully utilizes bandwidth resources and realizes wired-speed services intelligently. E series switches were tailor-made for secure access, ensuring full control for user access and protecting the Tsinghua Medical College from unauthorized users and potential attacks from hackers and viruses.

The new network is future-proofed and, coupled with 10GE technology, the network solves typical problems such as additional users, dense distribution and decentralized network management thereby guaranteeing high performance.

Huawei-3Com previously partnered with Tsinghua University's Fine Arts School in the building of a similar network and, following a successful implementation ahead of schedule, the partnership has grown to be very strong.
